Nioh 3 Review
Feb 4, 2026

Nioh 3 is a masterpiece and officially my favorite title in the franchise. After an incredible playthrough, I’m excited to share my full review with you all.

I loved Nioh 3. The art, music, and fighting are all top-notch. The story is a huge step up from the previous games, and I didn't want to skip any of the cutscenes. I also liked that the game gives you extra missions for each character. It’s a great way to learn more about the people you meet in the world.

The combat is also the best in the series. It’s so much fun to experiment with all the weapons, spells, and the monsters you collect to fight by your side. While it is easier than the first two games, that’s not a bad thing. The difficulty felt perfect, which made it easy to enjoy every minute. Of course, some bosses and enemies are harder than others. Even some of the small enemies can be annoying to fight, but I still had a great time.

There are so many weapons to try out in both the Samurai and Ninja styles. Each style gives you different abilities, armor, and ways to play. All the weapons feel unique and are fun to test until you find your favorite. For the Samurai style, I loved using the Axe. For the Ninja style, the Tonfa was my top pick. I usually choose weapons that deal a lot of damage but aren't too slow to attack with.

There is so much to see in Nioh 3. The map is huge, and there is something hidden in every corner. Exploring every inch of the map was a lot of fun and never felt boring. It was very rewarding to find new armor, weapons, and NPCs to talk to. There are also plenty of side missions and collectibles to find. It took me about 65 hours to get the Platinum trophy, and it was one of the most fun Platinums I’ve ever earned.

Playing Nioh 3 was the most fun I’ve had all year. I honestly couldn’t put the controller down! If you just play the main game without exploring everything, it takes about 40 hours to finish. It’s available for $69.99 on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam.
