God of War TV Show's First Image

Mar 1, 2026

Prime Video’s God of War series is officially in production, and to mark the occasion, the company shared a first-look image of Ryan Hurst and Callum Vinson suited up as Kratos and Atreus. The show, already confirmed for two seasons, follows the father-son duo on their journey to scatter the ashes of Faye, their wife and mother. Along the way, Kratos works to teach Atreus how to be a better god, while Atreus tries to show his father how to be a better human.

Alongside Hurst and Vinson, the God of War TV series features Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Max Parker as Heimdall, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, and Ed Skrein as Baldur. Ronald D. Moore, best known for his work on Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica, serves as showrunner. God of War is one of Sony’s most iconic franchises, and while no new games have been announced, it’s expected the series will continue, though a live-service project was reportedly canceled last year. Prime Video is also working on a live-action Tomb Raider series starring Sophie Turner, as well as a Life is Strange adaptation, and continues to run the hit Fallout show.
