BATTLEFIELD STUDIOS REVEALS 2026 ROADMAP

Battlefield Studios shared a detailed plan for Battlefield 6 and REDSEC today. This report gives a big look at what players can expect for the rest of 2026. It includes early looks at giant new maps and the return of sea combat. The studio is also adding many highly requested features throughout the year.
Season 3: Classic Reimagined (Starting May 2026)
This season brings back famous maps from the past with a fresh look. One map is Railway to Golmud, which is a massive version of a classic location from Battlefield 4. It takes place in Tajikistan and will be the largest map in the game. Another map is Cairo Bazaar, which is a small and fast map based on the Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3. Additionally, Ranked Play will finally arrive for REDSEC, beginning with a competitive mode for teams of four in Battle Royale.
Season 4: Naval Warfare (Starting July 2026)
This update focuses on fighting on the water with new vehicles and features. Tsuru Reef is a giant new map set in the Pacific that includes aircraft carriers for players to use. Wake Island also returns, updated for large battles across the sea and air. A new wave system will be added to the game engine to make the ocean look and feel more realistic during combat.
Season 5: Holiday Gift (Late 2026)
To finish the year, the game will get three new maps in one season instead of the usual two. These maps will be set-in brand-new locations that have never been in the series before.
Key New Features
Many improvements are coming to the game this year. A Server Browser will be added so players can find specific games easily. Proximity Chat will let players talk to people standing near them. Two older maps, New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, are being rebuilt to make them more fun to play. Other tools like Leaderboards, a Spectator Mode, and the Platoons system are also being added to the game.
