Final Fantasy VII Revelation Launches April 8, 2027

Square Enix has revealed the release date and new gameplay for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the dramatic conclusion to the remake trilogy. The title is scheduled to launch on April 8, 2027 simultaneously across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC).

Story & Setting

Picking up in the wake of tragic events, Cloud Strife and his allies take to the skies aboard the iconic Highwind airship. As Sephiroth nears godhood, the party races against time to stop Meteor and prevent the total annihilation of the planet.

New Gameplay Mechanics & Features

  • Highwind Airship Traversal: Players can freely explore a seamless open world using the Highwind airship to reach every corner of the planet.

  • Piko the Chocobo: Mount up on Piko, a growing companion Chocobo who unlocks new traversal mechanics and combat abilities over time.

  • New Playable Characters: Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine join the playable active roster.

  • The FITS System: A new combat layer that enhances party power through specialized job roles, including Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner.

  • Dynamic Party Management: Swap active characters and change party lineups instantly while exploring the open world.

  • Grappling Gun Traversal: Navigate vertical environments by scaling rooftops and zipping through urban and natural zones.

  • Quest Choices: Select specific party members to undertake certain side quests, influencing how narrative scenarios unfold.
