Dune: Awakening Console Release Details Revealed
Funcom has released a new developer deep dive for Dune: Awakening, showcasing what players can expect when the open-world survival game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026.
The studio also announced that the PlayStation 5 version will receive a physical edition, bringing the game to retail shelves with a disc included.
Console Version Details Revealed
The new deep dive highlights several features coming with the console release, including:
Full single-player support with customizable gameplay options.
Scalable difficulty settings.
A complete story experience featuring the conclusion of Book One.
Console-optimized controls and user interface.
Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The console version will include all major updates and improvements released for the PC version since launch.
Physical Edition Coming to PlayStation 5
Funcom is partnering with:
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe for retail distribution across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
Solutions 2 GO Inc. for North and South America.
The physical PlayStation 5 edition will launch on September 22 alongside the digital versions.
Players in Japan will also receive a retail release, with more details to be announced later.
More Customization and Single-Player Options
The upcoming release will give players more control over their experience with new customization options, including:
Adjusting resource gathering rates.
Changing experience gain settings.
Modifying combat difficulty.
Creating a personalized survival experience in single-player and private servers.
The game can now be completed entirely as a solo experience.
