The Elder Scrolls Online Reveals 2026 Content

During the 2026 Seasons Direct, ZeniMax Online Studios shared the new content coming to The Elder Scrolls Online this year. It starts with Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, which launches on April 2. These seasons will last about 90 days each and have their own themes, content, and rewards. All seasonal gameplay content is free for anyone who owns the game.
Season Zero adds a new area called The Night Market. It also brings updates to how the game feels, fighting other players, and a new hard mode that fans have wanted for a long time. Later in 2026 and in the future, the game will add new stories about the Thieves Guild and Sheogorath. There will also be new ways to play, like fighting on ships, exploring underwater, and going back to Skyrim.
Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk starts on April 3 for both PC and console players. This update adds a special area called The Night Market, located in Fargrave, which will be open for seven weeks. You can pick one of three groups to join and fight through difficult battles against monsters. By playing, you can earn a free house for your character called Night’s Den.
Season Zero also brings a new option called Challenge Difficulty, which lets you make the world tougher if you want. Starting June 8, you can choose from four different levels of difficulty, with better rewards for the harder ones. This season also includes big changes to fighting other players with a new ranking system called Veterancy PvP. The Dragonknight character class has already been updated with new improvements. Many other changes are also live now to make the game feel smoother, such as faster horse training, the ability to reset your skills in the menu, and more space for items and furniture.

Season One arrives this summer and brings back the Thieves Guild with a new story. This adventure takes place in the Glenumbra area, which has been updated to look better. It continues a story that started ten years ago and adds a new area called The Sage’s Vault that focuses on solving puzzles. The Daedric Prince Sheogorath will also return to lead you on a strange new series of quests across the world of Tamriel.
Later in 2026, the game will test out new features like ship battles and underwater exploring in a special event. There will also be new versions of existing dungeons made specifically for people who want to play alone. Finally, a new mission called a Trial will be added to the main game for the first time since 2014.
As teased in the latest video, players will return to the snowy north in early 2027 to visit a famous part of Skyrim that hasn't been in the game before. This update will add the first-ever Excursion Zone and feature active snowstorms that change how you play while you are in that area.
PlayStation Plus members can get the Gold Road Collection for free right now as part of the monthly games for March. This collection includes the main game, the Gold Road expansion from 2024, and all earlier expansions. It also gives you access to the Warden, Necromancer, and Arcanist character classes. You have until April 6 to claim this offer.
It was also announced today that the game will be available on PC Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere starting June 2.
