Shroom and Gloom Enters Steam Early Access

Team Lazerbeam and Devolver Digital have announced that Shroom and Gloom is now available on Steam Early Access.

The deck-building roguelite combines dungeon crawling with two separate card decks: Combat and Explore. Players will battle strange mushroom creatures, explore dangerous underground areas, upgrade their cards, and even cook defeated enemies into soups that can provide useful effects.

Two Decks, Endless Upgrades

The Explore deck lets players search, unlock, break, ignite, feed, and interact with the world as they make their way through the dungeons.

Meanwhile, the Combat deck is used to attack the various fungal creatures standing between players and The Gloom, the mysterious underground realm at the heart of the game.

Cards can be upgraded and modified repeatedly, allowing players to turn basic attacks into powerful abilities. Defeated enemies can also be eaten to restore health or used to create special soups.

The Early Access version includes two dungeons with different card pools, five playable characters, hundreds of cards, unique enemies, and quests that unlock additional content.

The developers plan to expand the game throughout Early Access with more cards, enemies, dungeons, and other content.
