Ubisoft has shared a new Rainbow Six Siege Community Checkpoint with details on competitive play, Operator balance, and what players can expect next. Some of the biggest changes focus on Ranked maps and bringing familiar modes back.
Ranked Maps Are Getting a More Stable Rotation
Starting next season, Ubisoft will stop rotating the Ranked map pool every season. Instead, the team plans to keep around 15 of its strongest maps available, including the nine currently used in professional competition. The goal is to let players learn maps and strategies without losing familiar favorites each season.
Hostage and Secure Area Return to Quick Match
Hostage and Secure Area will return to Quick Match rotation in Year 11 Season 4. Ubisoft is also developing a Hostage rework and plans to test it with players before considering any future competitive return.
3v3 Arcade Is Coming Back
The limited-time 3v3 Arcade mode proved popular with players, and Ubisoft confirmed it will return in Year 11 Season 4. A new Testing Grounds event will also experiment with half reinforcements, allowing more freedom when setting up defenses.
Operator Balance and Future Updates
The developers discussed recent adjustments to Noor, Tachanka, Snake, and several other Operators. More balance changes are planned, while the Operator mastery feature has moved to Year 12 Season 1. The team also wants future smaller patches to include fewer but more meaningful changes.
