OCTOPATH TRAVELER Games Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Square Enix has announced that OCTOPATH TRAVELER and OCTOPATH TRAVELER II will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1, 2026, celebrating the eighth anniversary of the beloved HD-2D RPG series.

Both games have been optimized for Nintendo’s new console, featuring improvements to resolution and frame rate compared to their original Nintendo Switch versions.

The two titles are now available for pre-order digitally and physically as separate releases, while a digital bundle will also be available.

Two Classic RPG Adventures Return

Since the series first debuted in 2018, OCTOPATH TRAVELER has become one of Square Enix’s most recognizable modern RPG franchises, combining classic turn-based gameplay with the unique HD-2D visual style that blends pixel-art characters with detailed 3D environments.

The series has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide across both games.

The sequel expands on the original with:
