Lords of the Fallen II Shows Faster Combat and New Weapon Switching

CI Games has revealed another look at Lords of the Fallen II, this time focusing on a major overhaul to its combat system. The latest Lifting the Veil episode shows faster attacks, more weapons to experiment with, and several improvements designed to make different playstyles feel more useful.

More Weapons and Smoother Combos

The sequel features nearly 30 different weapon movesets, compared with 15 in the previous game. Players can now switch between melee loadouts in the middle of a combo without interrupting their attacks. New counterstrikes and signature boss weapons add even more variety to combat.

Magic and Ranged Builds Get More Attention

The new Quickfire system lets players use projectiles, spells, and buffs without switching out of melee combat. Magic users can equip multiple spells across seven schools, while ranged weapons now have unlimited basic ammunition to make ranged-focused builds more practical.

More Freedom to Experiment

CI Games says the changes are partly based on feedback from the original game. Players will also be able to recover weapon upgrades for a small cost, making it easier to try different weapons later in the adventure.

Release Window and Platforms

Lords of the Fallen II is currently planned for Q1 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The latest development video is part of the Steel & Sorcery episode of Lifting the Veil.
