Fallout 76: The Slasher Update Is Now Available With Free Next-Gen Upgrade

Fallout 76 has received its 70th free update, with The Slasher now available alongside a next-generation update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The new update introduces a season-long mystery inspired by the Pint-Sized Slasher, with players investigating disappearances, collecting clues, and facing new enemies across Appalachia.

Investigate the Slasher

A mysterious killer has begun terrorising Appalachia while pretending to be the infamous Pint-Sized Slasher.

Players will need to follow clues and investigate strange discoveries as the story develops throughout the season. New activities and challenges will be added from now until December 1, including scavenger hunts, unmarked graves, Daily Ops, Infestations, and Mischief Night events.

The investigation will eventually lead to a cinematic showdown as players attempt to uncover the truth behind the mysterious killer.

The update also introduces new enemies, including Pint-Sized Phantoms and Slasher fanatics, alongside themed rewards such as new Power Armor and skins.

Fallout 76 Gets a Next-Gen Upgrade

Alongside The Slasher, Fallout 76 has been optimized for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The game can now run at 1440p and 60fps on supported platforms, providing a smoother experience for the new update and future content.

Players who own the game on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the current-generation version for free.

Bethesda Game Studios will also continue supporting the previous-generation versions with additional visual improvements and stability updates.

Fallout 76: The Slasher is available now on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.

The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

The Slasher will continue unfolding across Appalachia until December 1, making the new update an ongoing mystery rather than a single event.
