The Wasteland is shifting once again. Bethesda has officially launched Fallout 76: Infestations, the game’s 68th free content update. This massive drop reshapes over 40 familiar outdoor locations across Appalachia into high-stakes, unpredictable combat zones, challenging players to team up, adapt to dynamically changing enemy factions, and hunt down elusive, top-tier gear.
Infestations is available now across PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5/4, and is included in Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra catalogs.
🚨 Dynamic Enemy Takeovers
Infestations completely transform the outdoor landscape of West Virginia. When a location falls to an Infestation, its standard inhabitants are entirely wiped out and replaced by a single, heavily reinforced hostile faction.
The Cycle: Fight your way through shifting waves of enemies, building toward a brutal elite boss fight.
The Scale: Multiple Infestations can trigger simultaneously across all major regions, including The Forest, Savage Divide, Ash Heap, The Mire, Toxic Valley, and Cranberry Bog.
The Challenge: While the encounters dynamically scale to your current level and can technically be braved solo, they are custom-tailored to push a full squad to its limits.
⚔️ High-Risk Combat, Four-Star Rewards
Stepping into an infested zone carries massive risk, but the payout is the most lucrative in the game's history.
Successfully clearing a zone and putting down the elite faction boss guarantees elite-tier loot. Players can walk away with highly coveted Four-Star Legendary weapons or armor, complete with specialized modifications that can only be found by participating in Infestation events. Beyond the headline legendary gear, successful clears will heavily reward players with essential supplies like Caps, Chems, Bobbleheads, and Magazines.
