Dune: Awakening Launches on PS5 and Xbox with Full Single-Player Mode

Dune: Awakening is officially coming to consoles, with Funcom opening the gates of Arrakis to PlayStation 5 and Xbox players alongside a major new update for the survival game.
Head Start is already available for players who own the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition, ahead of the full console launch on September 22.
The console release also includes all of the updates and improvements that have been added to the PC version since its launch last year.
Full Single-Player Mode Is Finally Here
One of the biggest additions is a full single-player mode, allowing players to experience the entire game, including its story, content, and features, without needing to play with others.
Funcom has also added new gameplay customization options, letting players adjust things such as harvesting rates, experience gain, and death penalties.
The latest update also adds several hours of new story content, bringing Book One of Dune: Awakening's story to its conclusion.
A More Flexible Dune Experience
Funcom has made several changes to make the survival experience more accessible, including making PvP completely optional. The entire game can now be played through PvE.
The Deep Desert endgame has also been split into separate PvE and PvP instances. The PvP version offers higher risks alongside greater rewards.
Other changes include:
A rebuilt endgame focused on missions and faction progression
New maps, dungeons, weapons, and dynamic encounters
New Augmentations and Specializations progression systems
Refined combat, including improvements to melee
Reduced death penalties and changes to base and vehicle recovery
Improved performance and console optimization
These changes build on more than a year of updates and improvements made to the PC version.
PS5 and Xbox Versions
Dune: Awakening is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC through the Windows Store.
On PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, players can choose between Performance Mode at 60fps with Dynamic 4K and Quality Mode at 30fps with Dynamic 4K. PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X also receive higher native resolution and enhanced visuals in Quality Mode.
The console version includes redesigned controls and UI, along with support for features such as DualSense haptics.
Xbox players can also take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing progression to carry over between Xbox consoles, Windows PC, ROG Xbox Ally, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Cross-play is planned to arrive after launch.
Xbox Game Pass and PC Discount
Dune: Awakening will join Xbox Game Pass on September 22, while Game Pass members can purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition at 20% off if they want to start playing early.
PC players can also currently get the game at 50% off on Steam, marking its biggest discount so far. The offer runs until October 8.
A physical PS5 edition is also available at retail and includes a disc. The Japanese physical release will follow on October 29.
