Dune: Awakening Is Now Available on PS5 and Xbox With New Single-Player Mode

Dune: Awakening is now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing Funcom's open-world survival game to consoles alongside a major update that adds a full single-player mode and several new features.

The latest update is also available on PC, bringing the console version up to date with the content and improvements added since the game's launch last year.

A Full Single-Player Experience

One of the biggest additions is the new single-player mode, allowing players to experience the entire game, including its story, content, and features, on their own.

Players can also customize their experience with new gameplay settings that allow them to adjust things such as harvesting rates, experience gain, and death penalties.

The update also adds several hours of new story content, bringing Book One of Dune: Awakening's story to its conclusion.

PvP Is Now Optional

Funcom has also made several changes to the game's progression and endgame experience.

The entire game can now be played through PvE, with PvP becoming optional. The Deep Desert also has separate PvE and PvP instances, with the PvP version offering higher risks and rewards.

Other additions and improvements include:

  • A rebuilt endgame focused on missions and Atreides or Harkonnen progression

  • New maps, dungeons, weapons, and dynamic encounters

  • New Augmentations and Specializations progression systems

  • Refined combat, including improvements to melee

  • Reduced death penalties

  • The ability to save bases and recover vehicles

  • Improved performance and console optimization

New DLC Brings the Dune Movie Looks

A new DLC called Filmic Archive is also available on all platforms for $9.99.

The DLC adds cosmetic items inspired by the Dune films, including the Caladan Stormcoat worn by Duke Leto and Paul in Dune: Part One and the Aegis of an Unwalked Path armor inspired by Paul Atreides' visions in Dune: Part Two.

It also includes 73 Sardaukar building pieces, additional decorations, weapons, and emotes.
