Battlefield 6 Reveals Top Gun Collaboration Update

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have released the official trailer for an upcoming crossover with Paramount's Top Gun franchise. Arriving on August 18 as part of Battlefield 6's largest seasonal update yet, the collaboration brings high-flying dogfights, iconic jets, and fan-favorite characters to the shooter's massive-scale warfare.
The update centers on naval aviation and air combat, reintroducing the iconic Wake Island map alongside two new military aircraft—the F-74A Seacat and the F/A-81F Super Spectre.
Here is what players can expect from the crossover:
New Game Modes: Dominate the skies in Carrier Strike, a naval-focused combined-arms mode, and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep, built specifically for fast-paced aerial dogfighting.
Playable Movie Aviators: Step into the flight suits of iconic Top Gun characters, including Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), Lt. Robert "Bob" Floyd (Lewis Pullman), and Adm. Solomon "Warlock" Bates (Charles Parnell).
New Aircraft & Map: Take control of two brand-new fighter jets as you battle across the reimagined beaches and surrounding waters of Wake Island.
The Top Gun update launches on August 18 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Coinciding with the release, EA will host a week-long free trial running through August 25, allowing new players to jump in and carry any unlocked progress over to the full game.
